PMCPA needed to modernise its website without the cost, risk and disruption of a full rebuild. ClerksWell delivered a phased upgrade to Umbraco 17, extending the lifespan of the platform, protecting previous investment and creating a foundation for future digital innovation.
PMCPA's website was approaching the limits of its supported lifecycle. The organisation needed to move to the latest version of Umbraco while maintaining business continuity and avoiding the cost and disruption associated with rebuilding a well-established platform.
In addition to the version upgrade itself, legacy functionality and technical debt needed to be addressed to ensure the website remained maintainable, secure and ready for future enhancement.
Rather than taking a high-risk "big bang" approach, ClerksWell delivered the programme across two carefully managed releases.
The first release focused on platform stabilisation, removing obsolete functionality, addressing technical debt and preparing the website for the final migration.
The second release completed the transition to Umbraco 17, including code modernisation, API updates, quality assurance, user acceptance testing and deployment.
This phased approach reduced risk, simplified testing and ensured a smoother path to launch.
